Tonality - Major. Features a harmonic Ostinato (repeated musical idea) of 4 chords repeated over throughout the song,
chords 4, 1, 5, 1.
Rhythmical Features - Each phrase starts with a rest (silence). Syncopation e.g. "down" and 'fast' in the first line. These are great examples of syncopation that you can hear. Study them so you can hear other syncopations. Triplets in 3rd verse. "dappled and drowsy" etc.
Melodic features - Lots of step movement and repetition. Variation in the 3rd verse "dappled and drowsy".
